SPECIAL NOTE: The American Speech Language Hearing Association has established standards for being certified as a Speech-Language Pathologist. These standards are known as the Knowledge and Skills Acquisition or KASA. KASA influences what undergraduate GE courses a student should take. For example, KASA requires at least one class in the following categories: Biological sciences, Physical sciences, Behavior/social sciences, Math, Research, and another mode of communication class (e.g., American Sign Language). Based on these standards, we highly recommend students take the following courses in their GE curriculum: PSYC 200, BIOS 100, PHSC 101, MATH 101, MATH 210, and HUFA 101.
